On Thursday, our club lost a Charter Member.  But I can assure you that Bert Parker was more than just that.  His enthusiasm for Rotary, the CART Fund, and life in general was contagious.

If he wasn’t helping with a club fund-raiser or other project in his last few years as an active member, you could generally find him on the edge of the crowd documenting things with his camera.  And if there were children around, you knew he could fascinate them with a story while his hands shaped the balloon into one animal or another.  We miss you Bert, but we are forever grateful for the time we spent with you over the years.  You made everything we did, from serving oysters and hot dogs to picking up trash along the roads, more fun.
